Tour Cost

Limited to 12 participants

Check is the preferred method of payment, however, we can accept money transfer or credit card via PayPal. The participant is responsible for any money transfer fees, and payments via credit card or PayPal are assessed a 5% fee. 

A $1000 deposit will secure your spot, with the balance due Friday, August 2, 2019, 90 days prior departure. If you'd like to register and submit your deposit, email me (here) for registration information.

I will let the group know when it's time to book your flight. Please wait to hear from me before booking travel.

I strongly recommend both medical insurance and trip and cancelation insurance.

Fees include:
  • 11 nights in hotels in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Nizwa, and Muscat 
  • Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner each day 
  • Ground transportation for the entire trip 
  • English Speaking Guide and translator 

Fees do not include:
  • Airfare to Dubai 
  • Luggage fees 
  • Travel medical insurance (required) 
  • Travel Insurance (for cancellation and trip interruption; highly recommended)

Rad A. Drew is an Indianapolis fine art photographer who uses DSLR, mirror-less, and iPhone cameras to create images that capture the spirit of people and place. Riyad Abuhaliga, a native of the Arabian Peninsula, was educated in the United States where he met Rad in Bloomington, Indiana, in 1977. During their 40 -year friendship, Riyad has made a career of architecture, engineering, and construction consultancy in his home country where he lives with his family in Abu Dhabi, UAE. His primary professional focus has been on the adaptability of communities to the environment and societal and users' culture. He uses traditional Oases Settlements as a model with emphasis on environment, society, economy, technology, leadership, and change as the major pillars of "Sensible Sustainability." Riyad will serve as our host throughout our trip, arranging our guides, negotiating our accommodations, and relying on his extensive knowledge of the area to lead us to fascinating locations in his homeland and Oman.

Terms and Conditions

No one ever plans to cancel after signing up for a workshop. But, let’s face it, it can happen, and I need some guidelines that will be fare to you and allow me run my business. 

I hate to keep someone’s money when there’s a cancellation! If there is a health issue, emergency, or other hardship, contact me and I’ll work with you to refund as much as possible. It all depends on when you cancel and whether I can fill your spot with another participant.

Cancellation Fees:
  • 120 or more days before departure, $250 admin fee.
  • 90 days or more before departure, deposit amount
  • 89 to 60 days before departure - 75% of trip fee
  • 59 days or less before departure - 100% of trip fee (no refund)
If I have to cancel a workshop at any time up to the start (and I certainly hope I don’t!) I’ll let you know as soon as I know and I’ll refund all the money you’ve paid.
